CooperVision announces appointment of Lucy Davies as Director of Marketing & Professional Affairs, UK&I

New director brings a wealth of knowledge and over 20 years of experience to the role

Global contact lens manufacturer, CooperVision, is delighted to announce the recent appointment of Lucy Davies as Director of Marketing & Professional Affairs, UK&I.

Lucy’s career to date has encompassed a wide variety of roles, from positions in sales and account management through to marketing leadership roles where she has driven category strategy and growth, across a diverse range of categories in audiology and FMCG, as well as optics.

With over half of her career based in the optics industry, including a wealth of experience in the contact lens category with companies such as CIBA Vision and Alcon, Lucy has a strong understanding of the UK & Ireland optical retail market, how it has developed and what makes it successful, whilst also bringing to the role valuable learnings from other categories, retailers and consumer behaviours.

Within her new role, Lucy is passionate about fostering a leading Marketing and Professional Affairs resource aligned to help CooperVision’s customers grow and service their businesses, whilst providing the best care for their patients.

Lucy’s valuable knowledge of the optical market and the complexities of the vision correction customer journey will influence new marketing strategies, ensuring that they not only place the optical retailer and the ECP at the centre, but can also be activated effectively by eye care professionals in a store or fitting room.

Looking ahead, Lucy will be focussing on the future to ensure that CooperVision has the products and tools required to enable the contact lens category to evolve and grow over time.

Speaking of her new role, Lucy said: “There has never been a more exciting time for the contact lens category, and I’m delighted to be joining CooperVision to find new ways to ensure all consumers have their vision correction needs met throughout their lifetime. CooperVision offers eye care professionals a vast range of products and prescriptions, and I can see where different categories can thrive by providing a lifetime of wear; beginning in childhood with myopia management and continuing all the way through to presbyopia in later life.”

CooperVision’s Senior Regional Director, Keran Fordham, said: “We are delighted to welcome Lucy to the team and are excited to see how her wealth of experience helps to develop, not just the service we provide to our eye care professional customers and their patients, but the contact lens category as a whole.”
