LED PRO ophthalmic lens, specifically designed to mitigate Blinding LED glare

Younger Optics is proud to announce the launch of its innovative, patented   caused by modern LED lighting.

As LED technology continues to replace traditional lighting solutions worldwide, offering up to 90% energy savings and significant environmental benefits, it also presents a challenge: the spectral properties of LED light often result in excessive glare, eye fatigue, and overall visual discomfort—particularly for those needing corrective eyewear.

LED PRO utilizes revolutionary selective wavelength absorption technology to target peak wavelengths common in LED emissions, notably at 450 nm and 550 nm.

This advanced lens selectively absorbs a significant portion of this light while maintaining high overall light transmittance, complying with Category 1 lens standards.

BENEFITS

LED PRO will benefit users in every situation where artificial lighting is present. There are several situations where it is particularly important:

Night Driving

Most cars today use LED headlights, taillights and even car perimeter lights. While providing much better visibility for the drivers, LED headlights, being stronger and highly focused, can create a blinding effect for other drivers on the roads especially on the opposite side of the road. Drivers who spend longer driving in the dark can also experience heightened visual fatigue because of the constant exposure to LED headlights and taillights.

Monitors and Game consols

Most monitors and Game consols use LED technology. It is known that prolonged exposure to LED displays results in visual fatigue and even headaches for some people. People who work on computers and especially Gamers are particularly vulnerable to the negative effect of exposure to LED light. LED PRO lenses mitigate these effects and increase their overall visual comfort.

Sport arenas & indoors

People who engage in sport activities, playing in indoors and evening outdoors sports arenas are exposed to extraordinarily strong LED illumination. Tennis, Paddle tennis, football, cricket, baseball, and other evening activities often expose participants to visual fatigue and general discomfort due to LED light’s strong presence.

Extensive clinical tests and double blinded wearer trials were conducted comparing LED PRO Lens with standard corrective lenses for patients with Myopia, Hyperopia and Presbyopia. (Available on request)

Clinical test of LED PRO lens showed 16-20% improvement in Glare recovery time for the wearers. 100% of the participants noticed improvement in glare and reflection reduction, vision in low light conditions, and overall ease of adaptation and comfort. 90% of the participants were fully satisfied with the vision in natural light.

LED PRO is currently available in 1.67 MR-10 semi-finished single vision with 1.60 product to follow in the 4th quarter of 2025. LED PRO lenses are offered to Younger Optics laboratory customers in the UK , who will supply finished corrective lenses to their ECPs
