GOC suspends Liverpool based optometrist from register

The General Optical Council (GOC), the UK regulator for optometrists and dispensing opticians, has decided to suspend Mohammed Ul Haq, an optometrist based in Liverpool, from its register for three months.

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct.

This is in relation to failing to assess and/or accurately record clinical information and failing to make timely referrals.

Mr Ul Haq has until 4 August 2025 to appeal against his suspension.
