The lecture will be presented by Kishan Devraj, UK-qualified optometrist and Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London.

In this interactive one-hour session, Devraj will explore how AI-driven innovations are rapidly transforming every level of optical care, from advanced diagnostic tools that enable earlier detection and treatment to the evolving role of healthcare professionals in adopting these technologies. Drawing a parallel with Edison’s revolutionary invention of the light bulb, Devraj will illustrate how eyecare is undergoing a similarly profound shift.

The Presenter

Kishan Devraj is a UK-qualified optometrist and Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology, focusing on smartphone technology to assess quality of life in eye disease. Devraj co-created the OverSight app, which earned him the Clinical Leader of the Future Award (Optician, 2023) and a place on the NHS Clinical Entrepreneur programme. He also founded Clinician People, developer of the Ask Fellow Optoms app, which enhances clinician learning through social engagement and AI.
